Useful sentences
It’s right over there.
It’s this way.
It’s that way.
It’s right around the corner.
Go forward.
Go straight.
Turn left. Make a left. Take a left.
Turn right. Make a right. Take a right.
Go down the road.
Go along the road.
Go past the hospital.
Go forward for 2 blocks. / Go forward for 2 intersections.
When you reach the bank, turn left.
When you get to the post office, take a right.
Scenario
Guest: Excuse me, where is the restroom?
You: The restroom is on the 2nd floor.
You: You can take the escalator/stairs to the 2nd floor.
Visitor: Good morning! I’m looking for Jason from the marketing department.
You: The elevator is straight ahead. You can take the elevator to [the 8th floor].
You: His office will be on the right.
A: Excuse me, how do I get to the Taipei Zoo from here?
B: It’s on the other side of the city!
A: How long is the walk?
B: … You’d better call a cab.
Listen and repeat
You need to go three blocks, and then turn right at the light.
Then you will see a giant, cute Hello Kitty doll, it’s there all year round.
And then it will be on the left side of the street, across from the Hello Kitty.
Take the first right.
Go four blocks, and then turn left.
After two intersections / stop lights, turn right.
You’ll pass by a red-roof house on your right.
Go about 1 kilometer down this road.
It will be on your left. / It will be straight ahead of you. / It’s opposite the big Hello Kitty. /
It’s across the street from the Hello Kitty doll.
